When things don’t go as you planned. It’s easy to lose faith. In entrepreneurship, everything is really hard to predict. The best thing about the beginning of your journey is that everything looks bright. Really bright. You are motivated, inspired, full of energy and good spirit. You feel empowered and ready to GET IT. Why do we lose this feeling as we move along?
Why do we have to remember WHEN we started? Because we’re impatient. Humans seriously cannot take a minute to wait! Especially in our time. Especially in this digital era where EVERYONE talks about overnight success. Think about it, the majority of coaches name their online courses and lectures like “learn to get 6 figures in a month” or “start a successful biz in a day”. No! Stop it! Never. It’s not happening. An overnight success is the case of 1% of all the people out there. Others spent months, years, decades to get to where they’re now. You have to compare your progress looking back on the timeline, not just the financial or any tangible results. How much time have passed since you started and how much did you improve?
Why do we have to remember WHERE we started? Because forgetting our origins makes us forget who we are and get desperate over this mere fact. If your parents were millionaires, corporate world moguls, and you inherited loads of money — that is one story. But if you started out of nothing. If you started out of zero clients, no knowledge about business whatsoever, you have to keep that in mind and praise every day of your learning and growth. You have to remember where you started and move, move, move further every day. Get away from that starting point, but never forget it. Forgetting makes you lose your motivation to move on.
Why do we have to remember WHY we started? Because it will help us to stand up when we want to fall. It will help us get up after we actually fall. Never forget why you started. At the end of the day, it’s your ultimate life goal.
